Configuring "isu-resnet" wireless on Kindle Fire
Configure Kindle Fire to access "isu-resnet," a secure wireless network that is accessible throughout the residence halls on campus.
To configure Kindle Fire for "isu-resnet" wireless, do the following:
- On the home screen, press the wi-fi icon in the top-right corner of the screen.
- Press Wi-Fi.
- Make sure Wireless Networking is turned on.
- From the list of wireless networks, press isu-resnet.
- You are presented with a number of options. Select the following:
- For EAP method, select PEAP.
- For Phase 2 authentication, select MSCHAPV2.
- For CA certificate, select (unspecified).
- For User certificate, select (unspecified).
- For Identity, enter your ULID.
- For Anonymous Identity, leave this box empty.
- For Password, enter your password.
- Press Connect.
- If you are unable to see the Connect button, press the keyboard icon located in the lower-right corner of your screen. This will hide the keyboard so you can see the Connect button.
- A prompt informing you "Sign-in required" will appear shortly. Press Cancel.
- On the home screen, press Web.
- Press the menu button.
- The menu icon is three stacked horizontal lines along the bottom of the screen.
- Press Settings.
- Scroll down to the Advanced section.
- Press Desktop or mobile view.
- Select Mobile: Optimize for mobile view.
- Press the back button.
- Attempt to browse a website.
- A security warning prompt will appear.
- Click Ignore warnings and continue loading.
- Enter your ULID and password on the ResNet Terms of Use web page.
- Click Submit.
Kindle Fire is now connected to "isu-resnet" wireless. When you are within range of "isu-resnet," your Kindle Fire will automatically reconnect.
