ULID Guest Account

A ULID guest account is a temporary account sponsored by a faculty or staff member at Illinois State University.

ULID guest accounts are granted for one year after which they expire and are permanently removed. Before a ULID guest account expires, email notifications will be sent to both the ULID guest account and to the account's sponsor to warn of the upcoming expiration date.

If the authorized person currently using the guest account needs to continue using it beyond the account expiration date, he or she may request a guest account extension. An extension can be requested within 30 days of the account expiration date.

If the guest account sponsor does not want to allow the account to be extended, he or she can contact the University Computer Help Desk at 309-438-4357 or helpdesk@ilstu.edu to revoke sponsorship of the ULID guest account.

Request a ULID Guest Account Extension

If you are the person who is using the ULID guest account and need to keep the account active after the account expiration date, you may request an extension. 

To request a ULID guest account extension, do the following:

1. Go to http://helpdesk.illinoisstate.edu/.
2. Click Account Management.
   • If you are not already logged in, click log in to manage your account and sign in to CentralLogin.
3. Click ULID Account Extension.
   • You are only eligible to request an extension up to 30 days prior to your account expiration date.
4. Complete the form.
   • Select the length of time for which you would like to extend the account.
   • Provide a reason for needing an account extension.
5. Click Submit Request.

An Incident will be created for your request and will be sent to the system administrators in CISS SYSTEMS. When your request has been approved or denied, you will receive an "Incident Closed" email that will serve as the notification for the completion of your request.
