Overview of Kindle Fire
Use your Kindle Fire to connect to email, wireless, and other resources at Illinois State University.
Android on Kindle Fire
Kindle Fire operates using the Android OS. However, this version of Android has been heavily modified by Amazon. As a result, future updates and releases of Android by Google will be unavailable to Kindle Fire. Instead, Amazon will be responsible for all future updates to the Kindle Fire device.
Since Kindle Fire is different from other Android devices, instructions on configuring wireless and email for Kindle Fire are included below.
Exchange on Kindle Fire
Kindle Fire does not natively support Exchange. However, you can access your Exchange calendar and email using the Kindle Fire's web browser by visiting the Outlook Web App (OWA) website at https://owa.illinoisstate.edu/.
You might also be able to access Exchange using a dedicated app. Information on configuring an Exchange app can be found below, but it should be noted that OWA is the only officially supported method for accessing Exchange on Kindle Fire.

You can get help configuring Kindle Fire for email and wireless by stopping by the University Computer Help Desk office in Julian Hall 115. You can also contact the Help Desk at 309-438-4357 or helpdesk@ilstu.edu.
