How can I suppress my phone number, email address, and other personal information?

Illinois State University allows students, faculty, and staff to suppress their personal information online.

Before You Begin

There are a few ways to suppress or restrict your personal information online at Illinois State University.

  • iCampus
  • Human Resources
  • Registrar Service Center

You can restrict your addresses and phone numbers by logging in to iCampus.

You can also suppress information by contacting Human Resources (if you are an employee) or the Registrar Service Center (if you are a student).

Faculty and Staff

Faculty and staff can choose to suppress certain aspects of their records. For example, a faculty member could choose to suppress a home address but not a home phone number.

To suppress some or all of your personal information, contact Human Resources at 309-438-8311.

Students

Students can suppress their personal information, but doing so is an "all or nothing" option. Students cannot selectively suppress parts of their record. A student whose personal information has been suppressed will still appear when searched for through the ISU People Finder, but no information about that person other than a name will be visible.

To suppress all of your personal information, you must visit the Registrar Service Center in person with your Redbird ID card.
