How to make an international phone calls and faxes
You can make international telephone calls and faxes using a long distance calling code.
Making an International Call
We recommend dialing the numbers in an international phone number before picking up your handset. By making the call this way, you should be prompted to enter your long distance calling code almost immediately after dialing.
To make an international phone call using a campus phone, do the following:
- Dial 9 + 011 + country code + city code + local number.
- Pick up the handset. You should now be prompted to enter your long distance calling code.
- Enter your six-digit long distance calling code, followed by the pound (#) key.
Making an International Fax
To make an international fax using a fax machine on campus, do the following:
- Dial 9 + 011 + country code + city code + local number + pauses + long distance calling code + pound (#) key.
- Start the fax.
Use the same long distance calling code you use to make long distance calls. You may need to enter between 1 and 5 pauses before your long distance calling code to ensure the call is placed correctly.
