Cisco VPN client is incompatible with AT&T 3G cellular service
The Cisco VPN client does not function properly when connected to the AT&T 3G cellular network.
Problem
When connected to the AT&T 3G cellular network and you try to use the Cisco VPN client, you find that you are unable to access any resources on the Illinois State University network.
Cisco VPN client appears to connect successfully and stays connected. There are no errors associated with this issue. However, while you are connected with the Cisco VPN client, you are unable to access any Illinois State resources, such as email, network drives, and websites.
Solution
Use the Network Connect WebVPN client instead of the Cisco VPN client. The Network Connect WebVPN client provides the same VPN connection as the Cisco VPN client.
The first time you use the Network Connect WebVPN client, it is installed to your computer. You do not need to visit the WebVPN website each time you want to use the Network Connect WebVPN client. Instead, you can launch it from your computer, just like you do with the Cisco VPN client.
