Blackboard will not allow you to change your status in Who's Online
Your status in the Who's Online section of Blackboard shows you as Visible/Unavailable, and you cannot change it.
Problem
The Who's Online section of Blackboard incorrectly displays your status as Visible/Unavailable even after you try to change your status to Visible/Available. Additionally, when looking at the list of users on the Who's Online page, the Available column displays No for your name.
Invite to Chat
Due to your status being displayed as Unavailable, others will be unable to invite you to chat in Blackboard. However, you can still invite other people to chat with you as long as their status is displayed as Available.
Troubleshooting
To resolve this problem, do one or more of the following:
- Try a different browser
- Clear your browser cache
- Clear your Java cache
- Remove and reinstall Java
After performing each of these actions, attempt to change your status to Visible/Available. If you continue to experience the problem, try the next troubleshooting suggestion.
