How to clear your browser cache and cookies in Chrome
Clearing the cache and cookies in Chrome removes temporary Internet files accumulated by normal web browsing activity.
Each web browser stores temporary Internet files in its browser cache and cookies. If you are having problems accessing a certain website, you may resolve the problem by clearing your cache and cookies.
To clear your cache and cookies in Chrome for Windows, do the following:
- Open Chrome.
- Click on the wrench in the upper right corner of the browser.
- Click Options.
- Click the tab called Under the Hood.
- Click Clear Browsing Data.
- Change the drop-down menu Clear data from this period: to Everything.
- Click Clear Browsing Data.
- Close Chrome.
Your browser cache and cookies for Chrome have now been cleared.
To clear your cache and cookies in Chrome for Mac, do the following:
- Open Chrome.
- Click Chrome in upper left corner of computer screen (next to the Apple symbol).
- Click Clear Browsing Data.
- Change the drop-down menu Clear data from this period: to Everything.
- Click Clear Browsing Data.
- Close Chrome.
Your browser cache and cookies for Chrome have now been cleared.
