How do I view the classes I teach?

You can view the classes you teach in iCampus.

Before You Begin

iCampus allows both instructors and students to view their class schedules. Instructors can see a list of courses they teach, and students can see a list of courses for which they are registered. If you are both an instructor who is teaching a course and a student who is taking a course, you will see both class schedules.

To view a list of courses you teach, you must be set as the "instructor on record" in the mainframe. This is required for each course you teach. When you are made the "instructor on record" for a course you are teaching, that class will appear on your "Courses I Teach" tab in iCampus. When you sign up for a class to take as a student, that class will appear on your "My Class Schedule" tab in iCampus.

You do not need to add either tab to your iCampus layout to see the associated courses. They will automatically be displayed for you. Your class schedule can be found in the "Course Manager" channel on the "Academics" tab in iCampus.

View "Courses I Teach" in iCampus

To view the courses you teach in iCampus, do the following:

  1. Go to https://iCampus.IllinoisState.edu/ and log in.
  2. Click the Academics tab.
  3. Locate the Course Manager channel.
  4. Click My Schedules (Courses I Teach).
  5. Enter your 4-digit PIN if prompted to do so.
  6. Depending on whether you are a student, an instructor, or both, you will see the following:
    • Click the Courses I Teach tab to view the classes you are teaching.
    • Click the My Class Schedule tab to see the classes you are taking.
    • You will only have both tabs if you are both an instructor and a student.

"Courses I Teach" is Missing, or Some Courses Are Missing

If the Course Manager channel displays My Class Schedule (Figure 2) instead of My Schedules (Courses I Teach) (Figure 1), then you may not be set as the "instructor on record" in the mainframe for the class you teach.

If you see some of the courses you teach in iCampus, but not all of them, then you may not be the "instructor on record" for the courses you are missing.

Contact your department's main office and ask if you are set as the "instructor on record" for the course you are missing in iCampus. Your department's scheduling representative (which is often the chairperson, but may be someone else) may need to contact the Registrar Service Center to make this change in the mainframe.

If you are unable to find the scheduling representative for your department, please contact the Registrar Service Center at 309-438-2188 for assistance.

Please note that changes made by your department or the Registrar Service Center will not immediately make the "Courses I Teach" tab visible in iCampus. It typically takes one day for data from the mainframe to be updated into LDAP. This means that if your department or the Registrar Service Center mark you as the "instructor on record" today, you should see the "Courses I Teach" tab in iCampus tomorrow.

"My Class Schedule" is Missing

After the classes you teach have been added to iCampus, you may find that you're not seeing your student class schedule anymore. Your class schedule is still in iCampus, but it is now on a new tab called "My Class Schedule." If you are both an instructor and a student, you should have two tabs: "Courses I Teach" and "My Class Schedule." See figure 3 for a picture of how this should look on your screen.
