Before You Begin

There are two primary ways to find courses being offered at Illinois State University. You can search for courses through CourseFinder, and you can browse through available courses using the Course Offerings feature in iCampus.

CourseFinder is available at http://www.coursefinder.ilstu.edu/ and can also be accessed through iCampus.

Browse Course Offerings

To browse through available courses using the Course Offerings feature in iCampus, do the following:

1. Go to https://iCampus.IllinoisState.edu/ and log in.
2. Do one of the following:
   
   • Click the Academics tab. Then locate the Course Manager channel.
   • Locate the Search channel, and click the Courses tab. Then click Course Offerings beneath the search box.
3. Click Course Offerings.
4. Choose a semester and click Begin.
5. Four tabs are displayed, which allow you to browse through available courses.
   • Search by Department
   • General Education Courses
   • Illinois Articulation Initiative (IAI)
   • Additional Categories

Each of the four tabs available through Course Offerings allows you to browse a different category of courses.

Example - Find English Courses

To see all courses being offered by the English department, do the following:

1. Click Search by Department.
2. Choose English from the Department: drop-down menu.
3. If you want to see only classes that have seats available for registration, remove the check mark from the box labeled, Show Filled Sections. Otherwise, leave the check mark there.
4. Click Show Courses / Sections.
5. A list of courses is displayed.
6. To view the sections being offered for a particular course, click the appropriate View Sections button. 

Each of the four tabs in Course Offerings works similarly.

Search CourseFinder

You can search for available courses using CourseFinder in iCampus and by going to the CourseFinder website.

CourseFinder in iCampus

To search for available courses using CourseFinder in iCampus, do the following:

1. Go to https://iCampus.IllinoisState.edu/ and log in.
2. Locate the Search channel.
3. Click the Courses tab.
4. Enter your search in the box and click Search.
5. Your search results are displayed in the Search channel.
6. Clicking a link in your search results will open a new tab (or window) and display the details for the course via the CourseFinder website.
7. To return to iCampus, return to the original tab (or window).

CourseFinder Website

To search for available courses using the CourseFinder website, do the following:

1. Go to http://www.coursefinder.ilstu.edu/.
2. Enter your search in the box and click Search for your courses.
3. Your search results are displayed.
4. Clicking a link in your search results displays the details for the course.
