Updating McAfee Security for Mac virus definitions (DAT)

Scheduled AutoUpdate Runs Daily
By default, McAfee Security is set up to automatically update its virus definitions (DAT) file everyday at 4:45pm. This configuration means that under normal circumstances, McAfee Security will always be up to date.
Run Update Now on Demand
You can force McAfee Security to update its virus definitions (DAT) file at any time, even if it is configured to automatically update daily.
To run Update Now on demand, do the following:
- Click the McAfee icon on your task bar.
- This icon looks like a red shield with an 'M' on it and is found in the upper-right corner of your screen, near your system clock.
- Click McAfee Security Console....
- Click Update Now on the left side of the McAfee Security window.
- Click Start Update.
After the update is complete, you should see that Last Update Status says, Successful.
