How to launch Network Connect in Windows without visiting the WebVPN website
After installing Network Connect the first time, you can launch the it without visiting the WebVPN website.
Before You Begin
To install the Network Connect VPN client, visit the WebVPN website, as described in 1322: Connecting with the Network Connect WebVPN client.
After you install and run Network Connect once, it is available in your Windows start menu. You can launch Network Connect without visiting the WebVPN website.
Launch Network Connect in Windows
To launch Network Connect after you install it the first time, do the following:
- Click Start > All Programs > Juniper Networks > Network Connect > Network Connect.
- The Network Connect window will appear.
- Enter your ULID and password.
- Click Sign In.
- When Network Connect has successfully connected, the window will disappear. In Windows, you will see a padlock icon in your system tray (in the lower-right corner of your screen, next to your clock).
After connecting with Network Connect, you can access restricted resources at Illinois State University that require a VPN connection.
