How do I get access to the media streaming server?

Before you can use the campus media streaming server, you must request access.

Before You Begin

The campus media streaming server allows you to display streaming audio and video to your website or blog. This service is to be used only for academic purposes and university business. Access to the media streaming server is restricted to faculty and staff. For more information, refer to 1563: Overview of media streaming server.

Request Access to Media Streaming Server

To request access to the media streaming server, do the following:

  1. Go to the Technology Requests page on the Help Desk website.
  2. Click on Media Streaming Server Request.
  3. Log in with your ULID and password.
  4. Complete the online form.
    • You must choose whether you would like to embed your streaming audio and video using object code or using a web address.
    • Select Embed with Object Code if you want to display streaming audio/video on a website.
    • Select Embed with Web Address if you want to display streaming audio/video on a blog.
    • Select Both Object Code and Web Address if you want to display streaming audio/video on both a website and a blog.

  5. Submit the form when you are done.

When you submit the form, an Incident will be created for your request and will be forwarded to the system administrators in CISS SYSTEMS. The system administrators who manage the media streaming server will process your request within 72 hours. When your request has been completed and you have been granted access to the media streaming server, your Incident will be closed.

An email notification will be sent to your university email address when your request has been submitted and again when your Incident has been closed.
