Add a Post
To add a post to your personal blog, do the following:

- Click Login to My Blog.
- Enter your ULID and password, and click Login.
- Type a title for your post in the long, horizontal box under Add New Post.
- Type the contents of your post in the large, white text box.
- Add rich text to your post using the buttons at the top of the text box. For example, add bold, italics, lists, etc.
- You can use keyboard shortcuts instead of the buttons if you prefer. For example, Ctrl+b for bold, Ctrl+i for italics, etc.
- Do one of the following:
- To save a draft of your post so you can work on it later (without publishing it), click Save Draft.
- To preview your post so you can see what it will look like before you publish it, click Preview. (Your preview will open in a new window or new tab.)
- To publish your post so visitors to your blog can read it, click Publish. After your post has been published, you can view it on your blog by clicking View Post.
More Options
When you add a new post to your blog, you can also do the following:
Add Categories: You can also assign one or more categories to your post. Categories serve the same purpose as tags, so you may find it redundant to add both categories and tags. By default, your post is labeled as "Uncategorized." You can add new categories or use existing categories. Remove the check mark from any categories you want to remove from your post.
Example Categories #1: Vacation, England, Fun
Example Categories #2: English 101, Writing Assignments
Add Tags: You should consider adding one or more tags to your post. Tags are an easy way to categorize your post, and they allow your visitors to find related posts. As an instructor, you could add tags that correspond to the classes you teach so that students in one class can easily find all posts that pertain to them without having to wade through unrelated posts.
Example Tags #1: Vacation, England, Fun
Example Tags #2: English 101, Writing Assignments
Allow Comments: By default, when you create a new post, comments are disabled. If you would like to, you may allow your visitors to leave comments about your post. If you choose to enable comments, you must approve your visitors' comments before they will be published to your blog. After you approve a visitor's comment, it will appear on your blog so other visitors can read it too. To enable comments, put a check mark in the box labeled Allow comments on this post.
