Configuring LDAP on iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad
Configure the University's LDAP server on iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad so you can search for people at Illinois State.
Before You Begin
You must be connected to the Illinois State network to search LDAP for members of the University. You can use LDAP on iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad so long as you are connected to campus wireless or to VPN. For more information refer to:

To configure LDAP on iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad, it must be running software version 3.0 (or higher). For more information, refer to:

To configure LDAP on iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad do the following:
- Do one of the following:
- Connect to a campus wireless network, such as "isunet."
- Connect to VPN from off campus.
- Press Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Add Account... > Other.
- Press Add LDAP Account.
- Enter
dspublic.ilstu.eduin the Server field.
- Leave the User Name and Password fields empty.
- Press Next.
- You will receive a message that says, "Cannot Connect Using SSL. Do you want to try setting up the account without SSL?" Press Continue.
- Press ilstu, edu under Search Settings at the bottom of the screen.
- Modify the Base field so it says the following:
ou=People,o=IllinoisState,dc=ilstu,dc=edu- Note that there are no spaces in this setting.
- The Search Scope should be set to Subtree.
- Press LDAP to return to the previous screen.
- Press Save.
You have now configured LDAP for your device.
