Installing the VPN profile for iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad

Install the VPN profile for iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad so you can connect to restricted resources on Illinois State University's network.

Before You Begin

Download the VPN profile using iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad to automatically configure VPN for your device. You must complete these instructions using Safari on iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad.

Install VPN Profile for iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad

To install the VPN profile for iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad do the following:

  1. Launch Safari on iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad.
  2. Using Safari, download the VPN profile.
    • You must use Safari on iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad to download and install the VPN profile.
    • You can browse to this download by going to the Help Desk home page at http://helpdesk.illinoisstate.edu/. Then click Downloads > VPN Profile > Download VPN Profile for iPhone/iPod Touch/iPad.
  3. Safari will close and you will see a window named Install Profile.
  4. Press the Install button.
  5. A message will appear which says, IMPORTANT: The authenticity of "ISU iPhone VPN Profile" cannot be verified. Installing this profile will change the settings on your iPhone. Click Install Now.
  6. If you have a passcode set on iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad, enter it when prompted.
  7. Enter your ULID in the box labeled, Enter your username for the VPN profile "VPN (ISU VPN)".
  8. Press Next.
  9. Enter your password in the box labeled Enter your password for the VPN profile "VPN (ISU VPN)".
    • This is your ULID password.
  10. Press Next.
  11. You will see a message that says, Profile Installed.
  12. Press Done.

VPN is now configured on your device.
