iTunes U and copyright
Files uploaded to iTunes U are protected by copyright.
Before You Begin
According to the U.S. Copyright Office, copyright is a protection provided to "authors of [original works], including literary, dramatic, musical, artistic, and certain other intellectual works."
All members of the University must abide by copyright and intellectual property laws, as defined in 4.1.10 Intellectual Property and in 9.2 Policy on Appropriate Use Policy of Information Technology Resources and Systems.
Works available through iTunes U, including audio, video, and PDF files, are protected by copyright.
Listen, Watch, and Read
Anyone can listen to audio podcasts, watch video podcasts, read PDF documents, and read EPUB documents hosted through the Public Materials section of iTunes U.
A valid ULID and password are required to log in to the Reserved Materials section to access files not available to the public.
Do Not Redistribute Files
You are not permitted to redistribute audio, video, PDF, or EPUB files without the permission of the copyright holder. You can download files from iTunes U for your personal use, but you are not allowed to share them with others.
Uploading Files
iTunes U contributors can upload files to iTunes U. It is your responsibility to make sure you are complying with U.S. Copyright law when you upload files to iTunes U. Files uploaded without regard for U.S. Copyright law may be removed from iTunes U without notice. Original works that you create are protected by copyright, even if they are made available through iTunes U.
