How to become an iTunes U contributor
Request to become an iTunes U contributor so you can upload podcasts and PDFs to iTunes U.
Before You Begin
To upload podcasts and PDFs to iTunes U, you must be an authorized iTunes U contributor. Faculty and staff at Illinois State University can request to become iTunes U contributors by contacting the University Computer Help Desk.
Your Apple ID
You must have an Apple ID to be an iTunes U contributor. You are required to log in with your Apple ID when you want to upload files to iTunes U. You are free to use an existing Apple ID with iTunes U, or you can create a new one.
An Apple ID also allows you to make purchases through the iTunes store and is required to sync an iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad. If you have purchased music or video through iTunes in the past or if you own an iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad, then you already have an Apple ID.
Your Apple ID is an email address. This can be your Illinois State email address or another email address, as you desire. To create an Apple ID, visit Apple's website at https://appleid.apple.com.
Request to be an iTunes U Contributor
To request to be an iTunes U contributor, contact the University Computer Help Desk at 309-438-4357 or helpdesk@ilstu.edu.
Please provide the following information:

- Your full name
- Your ULID
- A contact phone number
- Your Apple ID (which is an email address)
The Help Desk will create an Incident for your request and will forward it to the iTunes U administrators in CISS SYSTEMS. Once you have been granted access to iTunes U as a contributor, you will receive an email notification that your Incident has been closed and your request has been completed.
Permissions to Upload Only
As an iTunes U contributor, you can upload files to iTunes U. However, you can make no other changes. You cannot delete, move, edit, or rename files or collections. If you need to make those kinds of changes, you must contact the Help Desk and put in a request. The iTunes U administrators in CISS SYSTEMS will review your requests and notify you when they have been completed. Please be specific about the changes that need to be made when you put in your requests.
