How to read and post discussions in Blackboard
Participate in class discussions using Blackboard.
To read discussions in Blackboard, do the following:
- Log in to Blackboard. Refer to 1385: How to access Blackboard.
- Click Discussions.
- To view discussion posts, do one of the following:
- Click on a discussion topic you want to read.
- Click the plus sign (+) next to expand a discussion topic so you can see its responses.
- Click the Expand All button to see all responses to all discussions.
- Click on a discussion response you want to read.
To create a new discussion or reply to an ongoing discussion, do the following:
- Click Create Message or Reply.
- Enter a title for your post in the Subject: box.
- Type your message in the Message: box.
- You can attach a file, such as a Word document or a picture file, to your post by clicking the Add Attachments button.
- When you are ready to post your message, click Post.
Some instructors have configured Blackboard to allow students to edit their own posts. To edit a message you've posted, do the following:
- Click on the message in the discussion.
- Click Edit Message.
- Make the desired changes to the message.
- When you are done, click Post.
