How to create an alumni email address

Set up an alumni email account using the Alumni ID you received in a letter from the Alumni Association.

Before You Begin

To set up an alumni email address, you must have an Alumni ID. Your Alumni ID is a string of 9 capital letters above your name on your alumni magazine label (or the label on most Alumni Association mailings). See (Figure 1) for an example.

If you are unable to determine your Alumni ID, contact the Alumni Association at 1-800-366-4478 or alumni@illinoisstate.edu.

Create Your Alumni Email Address

To create an alumni email address, do the following:

  1. Go to https://email.alumni.ilstu.edu/.
  2. Enter your 9-character Alumni ID in the box labeled Alumni ID:. Enter your Alumni ID in all capital letters.
  3. Enter the pictured word in the box labeled Word in box:. If you can't read the pictured word, click the link labeled click here to get another word.
  4. Click the Proceed button.
  5. Choose one of the available alumni email addresses by clicking the appropriate radio button.
  6. Enter the email address to which you'd like your alumni email forwarded in the box labeled Destination E-mail Address. You cannot forward your alumni email to another ilstu.edu address.
  7. Click the Finish button.

Email sent to your alumni email address will be forwarded to the destination email address you specified.
