McAfee VirusScan 8.6 displays "Trial Version has Expired"
After installing McAfee VirusScan 8.6 for Mac OS X, you receive the message, "Trial Version has Expired" and you are asked to purchase a copy.
McAfee VirusScan 8.6 for Mac OS X is provided to members of Illinois State University under a campus site license. As long as you are a member of the University, you are not required to purchase this software.To resolve the problem, remove and reinstall McAfee VirusScan 8.6 by doing the following:
- Quit VirusScan if it is running. Click VirusScan > Quit VirusScan.
- Remove McAfee VirusScan 8.6. Refer to 1123: Uninstalling McAfee VirusScan or McAfee Virex from Mac OS X.
- Restart your computer.
- Reinstall McAfee VirusScan 8.6.
After reinstalling, McAfee VirusScan 8.6 will no longer display the message, "Trial Version has Expired."Note: If you continue to receive the message, "Trial Version has Expired," make sure you have removed all versions of Virex as well. After removing Virex, remove and reinstall McAfee VirsusScan 8.6 again. Refer to 1340: Uninstalling McAfee Virex 7.2 or 7.7 on Mac OS X.
