What is my 4-digit PIN?

Your four-digit Personal Identification Number (PIN) allows you to access academic, financial, and personal information in My.IllinoisState.edu.

Before You Begin

Your PIN (Personal Identification Number) is a four-digit number that grants you access to academic and financial information in my.illinoisstate.edu.

Using Your PIN in My.IllinoisState.edu

To use your PIN to access academic and financial information, do the following:

  1. Go to My.IllinoisState.edu and log in.
  2. Sometimes you will need to provide your PIN. When you click a link that requires your PIN, you will be prompted to enter it. The first time you do this, you should use your default PIN as described below. You are required to change your PIN the first time you use it. You will only be asked to enter your PIN once per session.

Your Default PIN

By default, your PIN is your two-digit birth month and two-digit birth day. The first time you use your PIN, you are required to change it to a different four-digit number.

For example, if Reggie Redbird was born on January 30, 1992, his default PIN is 0130. The first time Reggie uses his PIN in My.IllinoisState.edu, he must change it.

Resetting Your PIN

You can have your PIN reset by bringing your Redbird Card to the Registrar Service Center in Moulton 107.

You can also send a fax to the Registrar Service Center to request a PIN reset. For more information, refer to the PIN and UID web page.
