Errors when opening a shared calendar in Outlook 2007 and Outlook 2010

This article explains some common error messages returned by Outlook when you try to open a shared calendar.

"Cannot display the folder. Cannot open the mailbox for this user because the user does not have a server mailbox." (Figure 1)

This error can occur in Outlook 2007 when it cannot find the specified calendar. The person whose calendar you are trying to open may not have an Exchange account.

"Cannot display the folder."

This error can occur in Outlook 2010 when it cannot find the specified calendar. The person whose calendar you are trying to open may not have an Exchange account.

"Cannot display the folder. Microsoft Exchange is not available. Either there are network problems or the Exchange computer is down for maintenance." (Figure 2)

This error can occur in Outlook 2007 when you attempt to open a calendar for someone who does not have an Exchange account.
