Changing ownership of a ULID guest account
Only the owner of a ULID guest account may submit a request to change its ownership.
Before You Begin
All ULID guest accounts have one or more designated "owners" (sometimes called "sponsors"). To change, add, or remove an owner of a ULID guest account, a request must made through the University Computer Help Desk.
For example, a staff member is the owner of a ULID guest account and plans to retire. He or she should request a change of ownership of the ULID guest account before leaving Illinois State University.
Request Change of Ownership
The owner of a ULID guest account should be the person to request a change in ownership. If the current owner is no longer with the University, the request should come from the person who is now in charge.
To request a change in ownership, do one of the following:
- Call the University Computer Help Desk at 309-438-4357.
- Send an email to helpdesk@ilstu.edu FROM your @ilstu.edu address.
Be sure to include the following information:
- Include the name of the ULID guest account
- Include the name and ULID of the current owner
- Include the name and ULID of the new owner to be assigned
The Help Desk will create an Incident for your request and send it to CISS SYSTEMS. The system administrators will make the necessary changes and will then notify both the new and old owners that the change has been completed.
