Resetting the Keychain in Mac OS X 10.4 and Mac OS X 10.5
Follow these instructions to reset your Keychain in Mac OS X 10.4 or Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard).
Before You Begin
- This procedure works with Mac OS X 10.4 and Mac OS X 10.5.
- The Keychain does not store account passwords. If you need to reset your account or login password, see 1076: How to reset an account password in Mac OS X.
- This procedure does not actually reset the Keychain password. It saves the old Keychain information and then creates a new, empty Keychain.
Resetting the Keychain
- Double-click Macintosh HD > Applications > Utilities
- Open Keychain Access.
- Select Preferences from the Keychain Access menu.
- Within the General tab, click the button labeled Reset My Keychain (See Figure 1).
- A new empty Keychain is created.
