How to request a ULID guest account
ULID guest accounts can be requested by faculty and staff members.
Before You Begin
A ULID guest account is a temporary ULID account sponsored by a faculty or staff member at Illinois State University. ULID guest accounts are typically requested for people who are adjunct to the University or who are affiliated in some other capacity that is out of the norm.
Guest Account Sponsor
Only current faculty and staff members may request a ULID guest account. The person who requests the ULID guest account becomes the guest account sponsor. The sponsor of the account takes a level of responsibility for activity on the guest account.
Requesting a ULID Guest Account
To request a ULID guest account, do the following:
- Go to the Support & Requests section of the University Computer Help Desk website.
- Click ULID Guest Account Request.
- Log in through CentralLogin if prompted to do so.
- Only faculty and staff members are allow to request ULID guest accounts.
- Complete the form to submit your request.
This will create an Incident for your request, which will be sent to the system administrators in CISS SYSTEMS. After your request has been processed, you will receive an "Incident Closed" email which will serve as notification that the new guest account is ready for activation.
Activating a ULID Guest Account
The "Incident Closed" email you receive will include the details you will use to activate the guest account. Using the information included in the email, activate the account through the Help Desk website at https://helpdesk.illinoisstate.edu/ulid/activation/.
