Searching and dialing from the personal address book on your VoIP phone

You can search and make calls using the personal address book on your VoIP phone.

Before You Begin

Your VoIP phone includes a personal address book. To add or remove entries from your personal address book, you must log in to the Cisco Unified CM User Options website. For more information, refer to:

There are two ways to view your personal address book: through the Cisco Unified CM User Options website and through your VoIP phone. You can also dial phone numbers stored in your personal address book using your VoIP phone.

Search Address Book on the Web

To view your personal address book through the Cisco Unified CM User Options website, do the following:

  1. Go to http://voip.ilstu.edu/ and log in using your ULID and password.
  2. Click User Options > Personal Address Book.
  3. Do one of the following:
    • To see all entries in your address book, leave the search box empty, and click Find.
    • To search your address book, select the appropriate options and enter your search criteria. Then click Find.
  4. All the entries in your address book are displayed.

Search Address Book on Your VoIP Phone

To search your personal address book on your VoIP phone, do the following:

  1. Press the Directories button on your VoIP phone.
  2. Use the arrow pad to highlight Personal Directory.
  3. Press Select.
  4. If you are prompted to log in, enter your ULID in the UserID: field and your VoIP PIN in the PIN: field.
    • To enter your ULID, you must use the number pad on your phone.
    • By default, your VoIP PIN is 0000, but you must change it before you can log in the first time.

  5. Use the arrow pad to highlight Personal Address Book.
  6. Press Select.
  7. Do one of the following:
    • To see all entries in your address book, leave all fields blank, and press the Submit button.
    • To search your address book, complete one or more fields, and press the Submit button.
  8. The results of your search are displayed.

Dial a Phone Number from an Address Book Entry

To view or dial an address book entry from the search results, do the following:

  1. From the list of search results, use the arrow pad to highlight an address book entry.
  2. Press Select.
  3. Use the arrow pad to highlight the desired phone number to dial.
  4. Press Dial.
