How do I activate my ULID account?
Follow these instructions to activate your ULID account, which allows you to access email, iCampus, Datastore, and Active Directory.
Before You Begin
All members of Illinois State University are granted a unique University Login ID (ULID). Before you can use your ULID, you must activate your account.
New students can activate their accounts after being accepted by the University. New faculty and staff members can activate their accounts after being hired.
Activate Your ULID Account
To activate your ULID account, do the following:
- Go to http://helpdesk.illinoisstate.edu/.
- Click ULID Activation.
- Enter your University ID number (UID) and your birth date.
- Your UID number is printed on the front of your Redbird Card.
- Click Continue.
- Read the Policy on Appropriate Use of Information Technology Resources and Systems.
- To proceed, put a check mark next to I agree to abide by the Policy of Appropriate Use Policy.
- If you do not agree to the policy, you may not continue.
- Click Continue.
- To finish activating your ULID account, create a password and set your security questions.
- Your password can be between 8 and 50 characters. You are encouraged to create a passphrase (a long password) with spaces. Your password must contain at least one number and one letter.
- Choose two security questions and provide answers for them. Your security questions are used to verify your identity at Illinois State.
- If you would like to opt out of receiving official surveys from Illinois State, uncheck the box labeled Contact me via email for officially approved campus surveys.
- To activate your ULID account, click Activate Account.
Troubleshooting
If you have problems activating your ULID account, check the following:
- Make sure your birth date is typed correctly.
- Make sure your University ID Number (UID) is typed correctly.
- Contact the Registrar Service Center at 309-438-2188 to verify your birth date, UID Number, and your status at the University.
